Birth Plan

Birth Plan Service

Your birth plan is more than just a checklist, it’s a personalized guide to help you feel informed, supported, and empowered throughout your pregnancy, labor, and delivery. Together, we’ll explore your preferences, values, and unique needs to create a plan that reflects your vision for birth.

This service includes:

  • Compassionate, trauma-informed discussions to clarify your priorities.
  • Guidance on comfort measures, pain management options, and newborn care wishes.
  • Space to explore cultural, spiritual, or family traditions you’d like honored.
  • Practical communication tools to help your care team understand and respect your choices.

Every birth journey is unique. Whether things unfold exactly as planned or unexpected changes arise, your birth plan will serve as a foundation of support, ensuring your voice is heard and your experience is honored.

What’s Included in the Birth Plan Service

Your Birth Plan Service begins with a one-hour consultation where we take time to review your health history and your vision of pregnancy, labor, and life with your newborn. Together, we’ll explore your values and preferences, providing resources and information tailored specifically to your journey. This helps you feel empowered to make informed decisions every step of the way.

As you move into your third trimester, we’ll meet again to review your birth plan and also create an alternative plan in case a medical intervention is recommended. Having both options in place ensures you feel confident, prepared, and supported no matter how your birth unfolds.

Throughout this process, you will learn about various scenarios and become familiar with terminology and procedures before you’re faced with them in the moment. The more knowledge you carry into labor, the less likely you’ll feel caught off guard or overwhelmed. These meetings are designed to provide tools, education, and reassurance so that you can enter labor feeling calm, capable, and well informed.

Highlights of this Service:

  • Initial Consultation (1 hour): Review history, preferences, and vision for your pregnancy and labor.

  • Tailored Resources: Information specific to your journey to support informed decision-making.

  • Third Trimester Meeting: Revisit your birth plan and create an alternative plan if medical intervention is suggested.

  • Labor Preparation: Learn about scenarios, terminology, and procedures to reduce anxiety and surprises.

  • Confidence Tools: Resources and support to help you stay focused, calm, and empowered throughout labor.
